Holiday 2012

Hey,
my best friend and I want to go on vacation this summer. Where are you going for this year? We still have no real plan where to go. I was hoping that I get some advice here. We are both still in training and have therefore not a big budget.
I would like to make a trip to Switzerland to wander. My friend would love to Portugal. But I have no desire for a beach holiday. I would rather see some culture and big mountains. What do you think, costs a trip to Switzerland? It very expensiv, right? Maybe Austria is better? When I get my proposal, I would make a compromise with my friend, so she gets a lake to relaxe! I've read that both countries have many lakes. I've been informed on this page [Only mods are allowed to see this link] What would you recommend? Was anyone of you in Switzerland or Austria so far? If so, how did you like it? Does anyone knows a cheap supplier?
